Information Literacy of Students: Search Strategy

Summary
This paper presents the research on information literacy level of students in Novi Sad. The survey was conducted
among students of four different faculties in Novi Sad (Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management, Faculty of
Philosophy, Medical Faculty, Law Faculty of Economics and Justice) and users of the Matica Srpska Library. A total of
201 students participated in the research (100 freshmen and 101 fourth year students). As the basic research method
for gathering data we used survey. The questionnaire contained 10 questions. The results obtained in this research
should increase interest in the concept of information literacy in higher education institutions, and highlight its
importance for the entire education system. The goal of the research is to suggest introducing the new course, Basics
of Information Literacy, to the undergraduate curriculum.
