Serbian Association of School Librarians
|
Summary
Numerous problems connected with the work of school libraries and the position of school librarians, led to the establishment of the Serbian Association of School Librarians in 2006. Since then, the SASL has made significant efforts to draw more attention to professional training of school librarians. The Association itself organized several seminars and conferences. In order to improve professional knowledge through the exchange of experiences, it launched its online magazine and the collection of good practice examples. They promote work of school librarians and enhance awareness of their importance. Taking responsibility for the development and better positioning of this profession, finding better solutions for supply of library equipment, more active involvement of members and affiliates in its work, are some of the challenges facing the Serbian Association of School Librarians today.
