VCard in Belgrade City Library: More than Just E-Business Card

Summary
Introduction of this paper discusses statistical data regarding use of the Internet and various platforms, as well as behaviour of users while online. The main theme of the paper is implementation of a new service in the Belgrade City Library. It is a simple product called My Business Qard, developed by a local company Fractal Dimensions. Since this is a new product, which is still in the initial phase of implementation on Serbian market, it is agreed that the Belgrade City Library will be the first institution to test it. The library implemented hierarchical model in creating profiles on the levels of the institution, its departments and individuals. The profiles are primarily intended for access from mobile devices. They facilitate use of contact data and other web services. As a special convenience, they allow downloading the profiles to users’ devices in the standard vCard file format. Access to the profiles is enabled in several ways: through the list of locations and employees given on the Belgrade City Library web site, by using maps, by scanning the QR codes or by visiting the web site www.adresar.bgb.rs. At the end, the paper brings review of the QR codes, their use (including prize games) and adjustment.
