My new publishing firm is issuing books for scholars and for libraries. The library community is under enormous pressures – from squeezed budgets, new digital demands, and changing expectations among users. The biggest single issue in libraries and in publishing right now is the digital challenge – and finding new ways to serve library users. Particularly among the young. Libraries are absolutely pivotal in all our communities and we do all we can to support them. In a vital sense libraries define the local community.
